Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the developer of Wexel, Manuel López. Write to letrixagame@gmail.com about anything related to your data.
If you play alone and without an account
The daily challenge, the word wheel, the growing wheel and The Forge play offline, and nothing you do in them leaves your phone. Your progress, streak, level and hints are kept only on the phone, and they are gone if you uninstall the app.
The app keeps a device identifier locally so that two phones are not confused if Android restores a backup. It is never sent anywhere.
If you play against other people
Duels, rooms and The Forge Live are played online without an account. To know who finds each word, the app opens an anonymous session: a random identifier that carries neither your name nor your email.
| Data | What for |
|---|---|
| The name you play under | Without an account, “Guest” and four random digits. It is what the other players in that game see. |
| The words you find and when | Deciding who each word belongs to and who wins. |
| Your rating when a duel starts | Matching you with someone at your level and working out the result. |
| In The Forge Live, your round and points | Letting every player see how the others are doing. |
| The language of the game | Matching only players of the same language. |
If you create an account
An account is optional. It keeps your results if you change phones and lets you play duels under your own name. If you sign in with Google, your email and your Google account identifier are received, and nothing else. Wexel has no public leaderboards, and your email is never shown.
| Data | What for |
|---|---|
| Your email | Identifying the account and recovering it. |
| The name you choose | What your opponents see. It does not have to be your real name. |
| Daily challenge results | Date, language, seconds, tries and points: the backup of your streak. |
| Your rating | So your level is not lost when you change phones. |
Checking for a new version
When the app opens with a connection, it downloads a small file from this website saying which version is the latest one published, so it can tell you to update. The request carries no data of yours; as with any website visit, the server sees the IP address it comes from.
What is never done
- There is no advertising.
- There is no analytics or third-party tracking, in the app or on this website.
- There are no crash reports sending data.
- No data is sold or handed to anyone.
- Your location, calendar, contacts and photos are never collected.
- The only Android permission the app asks for is internet access.
Who else handles the data
- Supabase hosts the database, the accounts and online games.
- Brevo sends verification and password recovery emails. It only receives your email.
- Google is involved only if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
- Vercel hosts this website and the version file.
How long it is kept
Account data, for as long as the account exists. When you delete it, everything that hangs from it is deleted: the account, the name, the results, the rating and online games. Games played without an account stay tied to an anonymous identifier that does not reveal who you are.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its correction, deletion or portability, or object to its processing. To delete everything, see how to delete your account. For anything else, write to letrixagame@gmail.com. If you think your rights have not been respected, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Children
Wexel is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above is updated. If the change is significant, the app will say so.
